IMEX starts with She Means Business at EduMonday

Hundreds of meetings industry professionals attended new event EduMonday at IMEX Frankfurt

Hundreds of meetings industry professionals descended on IMEX as She Means Business, Rising Talent and the Agency Directors Forum featured as new events at EduMonday. 

She Means Business saw well over 300 women descend on the Kap Europa to hear keynote speeches from several successful industry professionals.

Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group, said: “So much research, thought and hard work has been invested in developing such a huge range of sessions and events.

"In just two years EduMonday at IMEX in Frankfurt has become an important day in the industry calendar.”

The 'women in space' keynote, supported by the Cologne Convention Bureau saw Laura Winterling, former astronaut instructor and CEO of Space Time Concepts, European Astronaut Centre share her emotive story as well as Major Nicola Baumann, one of Germany’s only three female Eurofighter pilots.

Karin Nordmeyer, chairwoman of the UN Women National Committee, Susanne Lalonde, director of global employer branding at SAP, Dr Mara Harvey, head of global at UHNW and Isabel Bardinet, CEO of the European Society of Cardiology were some of the inspirational female business leaders from diverse backgrounds including tech, finance, cardiology and the UN who shared their vision,best practices and personal perspectives on the issues faced by women in business today.

The session closed with a panel discussion moderated by Sheriff Karamat, CEO, PCMA where Nina Freysen- Pretorius, president, ICCA and Karen Bollinger, CEO, Melbourne CVB discussed women in events and business and how a cultural shift can create a real change.
