More than 1.2 million visitors at Messukeskus Helsinki in 2017

Eight international congresses brought more than 28,000 visitors alone

More than 1.2 million visitors attended meetings and events at the Messukeskus Helsinki in 2017 as the Finnish venue had a record summer.

The eight international congresses hosted by the Messukeskus brought more than 28,000 visitors and more than 40 million euros (£35.5m) to the Helsinki metropolitan area. In addition to international congresses, nearly 2,000 meetings were held at the Messukeskus.

The public event with the greatest number of visitors was the Taitaja 2017 Finnish Championships of professional skills, bringing more than 99,000 visitors to the venue. In total, the Messukeskus organised or hosted 87 fairs, business events, congresses, and festivals, featuring more than 9,300 companies.

Upcoming events in 2018 include, among others, the On the Plate Event concentrating on special diets, and HupiCon, organised together with the Children’s Fair – an event for enthusiasts, players, and DIY enthusiasts. The forestry, packaging, energy, and chemical industry combined event PulPaper, Wood, PacTec Helsinki, and Bioenergy will be held at the Messukeskus at the end of May.
