Cisco joins Eventia and signs up for summer conference

20/04/2011

Cisco has become the latest corporate to join industry association Eventia and will present a keynote speech at this year’s Summer Eventia conference in Cardiff.

Cisco joins other brands such as the COI, Barclays, Linklaters, UCAS Media, FICO and JP Morgan, which have signed up to engage with Eventia’s membership.

As part of its membership, Cisco Live’s Global marketing manager Staci Clark has teamed up with Active Network’s global strategic director Anthony Miller to present a session on ‘Using digital technology to enhance engagement’ on the opening day of the Summer Eventia conference, which takes place at The Mercure Holland House Hotel, Cardiff on 26-28 June. The keynote will be followed by workshops on social media, mobile and virtual technology so that delegates can gain advice on the topic.

Gerd De Bruycker, Cisco group manager European event marketing, said: “Our Eventia membership is a logical step. We are looking forward to networking, learning and sharing best practices with other members of this well recognised events industry organisation.”

“We were looking for an educational opportunity for our team and the chance to join other corporate bodies in shaping the future of the events industry. A trusted organisation like Eventia provides a great platform to achieve those goals,” added Ben Atherton, Cisco, European event marketing strategy.

A panel of corporate event planners is also being finalised to discuss the pitch process at Summer Eventia, chaired by Izania Downie, Eventia Ambassador.
