The International Special Events Society (ISES) has appointed Simon Mills as director of fundraising and partnerships for the association.

Mills – who is head of sales and marketing for the Twickenham Experience at Twickenham Stadium -  has worked in the industry for 16 years and is the former head of business events for VisitBritain.

Mills replaces former director of sponsorship Dan Hands who has resigned his position on the board due to unforeseen work commitments.

Mills said: “I am delighted to join the board of ISES and contribute to the continued growth and success of the association. For Twickenham Experience it gives us the perfect opportunity to raise our profile in the creative events sector and build a strong network of industry peers to share best practice.”

ISES president and COO of the Royal Aeronautical Society, Jonathan Byrne added: “We are fortunate to have a strong board of committed individuals who are passionate about the future of the creative events industry. Simon’s experience in international and national destination marketing will bring a new mix of expertise to the association as well as enrich our forward planning to continue to deliver excellent value for our membership.”
