Epson choose Monaco for green credentials, not golden image
Epson has confirmed its biennial 660-delegate event will take place in Monaco in April 2010, after a year’s postponement.
Sam Robson of the Ultimate Event Company – the agency handling the business for Epson – said the principality won the business on their green credentials rather than glamorous perception.
“Epson wanted good access for all delegates for a pan-European launch and Monaco provides this but the Monaco Tourist Authority has tried very hard to highlight the green elements of the location and that was also very important to our client.
"Also because Monaco is struggling with the ‘prestige image’ tag, the rates in Monaco are very good.”
Robson says the event is one of several business wins that have made her cautiously optimistic about the Ultimate Event Company’s prospects in 2010.
“A few of our old clients are now doing more and we will finish in profit this year although there were times when I thought that wouldn’t happen," she said. "One day this month we had four events in one day - two in the same hotel!
“We are currently working on some big things and 2010 will definitely be better than this year but no bounce yet, I think it will be a gradual recovery.”
