AIBTM opens with 1,500 pre-registered buyers on day one

22/06/2011

The Professional Convention Management Association’s decision to co-locate its Education Conference with new industry trade show AIBTM in Baltimore has paid off, with a 64 per cent increase in registrants than its last conference in Montreal. The PCMA conference (20-23 June) attracted 600 total registrants.

Meanwhile, Reed Travel Exhibition’s inaugural Americas trade show, AIBTM, opened for its first day yesterday with more than 1,500 buyers pre-registered.

It was standing room only at many of the 12 Education Day sessions, which saw an average of 150 delegates per session attend seminars, such as ICCA’s ‘Penetrating the US Outbound Meetings Market’, to ‘MPI Global Training on the Road’ and ‘Strategic Meetings Management Supplier Engagement’.

AIBTM takes place 21-23 June at the Baltimore Convention Center.

I agree! I presented Strategic Meetings Management on Tuesday to a sold-out crowd of association and corporate buyers and suppliers. Many of those in attendance have contacted me for the SMM Book and there was great feedback on the sessions, exhibitors and location. Great job AIBTM!!
