A new website has been launched to help events find corporate sponsorship. Potential corporate sponsors use Sponsormonster.co.uk free of charge to identify and contact current sponsorship opportunities that meet their marketing criteria. Rights holders seeking sponsorship pay a fee (currently £75) for a 12-month listing.
The site has been created by Guy Wimpory, who was previously a sales director with Topsail Events and TUI before leaving to sell sponsorship for Brighton Fashion Week.
“I gained a good understanding of the current common sponsorship model but felt that there must be an alternative way of sponsors and properties connecting,” said Wimpory. “I believe ‘agency’ works for the sponsorship industry but it does not have to be as exclusive as it always is, nor as expensive as it can be. And with cuts in public sector funding, and the private sector needing to maximise the effectiveness of their marketing spend, I feel Sponsor Monster has an important role to play.”
Current Sponsor Monster listings come from the events, conference, sports, arts, media, charity and public sectors, and Wimpory plans to roll out a further sponsorship finding service for small community events called The Sponsor Tree Network.
