Still plenty of hotel availability in London over Olympics, figures show

19/01/2012

Committed occupancy for London hotels over the Olympic Games period this summer currently stands at 45.7 per cent, according to hotel market intelligence provider, TravelClick.

Occupancy is up more than 300 per cent on the same time last year, although there is still good availability in the capital between July 27 and August 12; the dates of the opening and closing ceremonies.

Committed occupancy across the 16 days is fairly consistent with the busiest night currently showing as that of the opening ceremony, which is at 46.9 per cent committed occupancy - a 443 per cent rise on the same date in 2011.

Meanwhile, prices are also buoyed with the average daily rate up an average 118.2 per cent year-over-year across the Olympic Games period.
