With 100 days to go until this summer’s Olympic Games in London, ATP Event Experts
has revealed it expects to move between 15,000 – 20,000 visitors, corporate
sponsors, athletes and support staff.
As official ticket and travel partner to the Dutch Olympic
Team and authorised ticket reseller (ATR) in The Netherlands, ATP Event Experts
will transport Dutch athletes and support staff from training camps all over
the world to the team’s official base in London.
ATP Event Experts is also involved with the running of
Holland Heineken House, the official national house of Netherlands Olympic
Committee, at Alexandra Palace.
A virtual tour video has been released on YouTube giving a sneak peek of how
the venue will look. The ‘This Must be Holland’
decorative concept is described as a fusion of typically British
characteristics with an orange twist, the national colour of the Netherlands.
Neil Pace, head of UK event operations at ATP Event
Experts said the company had been preparing for London 2012 since it was
announced seven years ago: “Having handled multiple games in multiple regions
our teams are well versed in the fact that tickets, travel and accommodation become
a rapidly dwindling asset,” he said. “Our event and corporate personnel have
proven expertise in managing complex travel management projects for
professional teams, sporting organisations and large-scale corporate groups and
sponsors. With this knowledge we started to prepare for the London 2012 events
the day after the announcement.”
Since the year 2000, parent company ATPI Group has moved more than
45,000 athletes, fans and sponsors over the course of eight summer and winter
Olympic Games. Other sporting clients of the ATPI Group include the
English Football Association, the Welsh Football Association and a number of
leading stars from the worlds of golf and motor racing.
