Southwater Event Group invests £30k in leadership programme

Southwater Event Group has launched an Aspiring Leaders Programme to aid succession planning and support the group’s commitment to growing its senior management team. 


The company, owner of The International Centre, Telford, has invested more than £30,000 into the leadership and management programme, which is nationally accredited, and has selected 12 candidates who will undertake it.


The qualification consists of 12 modules, 13 training days and four assignments all to be completed within 20 months.


One of the candidates, Gareth Dorrington, who is senior project manager at StagecraftUK, said: "I am delighted to have been chosen to take part in the Aspiring Leaders Programme. I have been working for the Southwater Event Group for almost three years and it is great to be offered the opportunity to enhance my skills and move forward in my career."


Catherine Watson, HR director at Southwater Event Group, added: "We are thrilled to have launched our Aspiring Leaders Programme for 2017. We selected 12 great candidates with the aim of developing their skills further following completion of the L4 and L5 Management Programme with Derby University.  We have developed a training schedule; meticulously planned so that all delegates can attend the training sessions. It will be great to see how the programme helps shape them into the future leaders of Southwater Event Group, making a real difference to the development of the Group and the services it provides to its clients."
