QEII Centre to host pop-up charity coat drive

London’s QEII Centre is calling for old, unwanted or unused coats to distribute them to charities that support the homeless, the elderly and refugees across London.

Every November, the Wrap up London campaign brings hundreds of Londoners together in coat collections across the capital.  Now entering its seventh year, it has become one of the largest winter volunteering events in the city. Many people will suffer over the coming months, and the number of people living in crisis is rising. Wrap Up London successfully demonstrates the collective community spirit that exists in London when those in needs are at their most vulnerable.   Last November, over 850 people gave their time to collect nearly 23,000 coats and distribute them to over 100 charities.

Diane Waldron, director of sales and marketing at the QEII Centre, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting a pop-up collection point for Wrap up London this year and urge Londoners to delve into the back of their wardrobes and donate good quality, unwanted coats to those who need them most.”

The QEII Centre is London’s leading large events venue, with capacity for 2,500 delegates across 32 event spaces. The centre is the perfect location to call on staff, event organisers and event attendees to donate a coat this week between Monday 20 and Wednesday 23 November 2017.
