The International Special Events Society (ISES) UK chapter has thrown its weight behind UK Events Week.

ISES UK will mark the event with a series of networking and educational events aimed at flying the flag for the industry.

“If it supports the industry we support it, and we want to be a part of any initiative that uses events to promote events,” said ISES UK president Kevin Jackson. “We’ll bring our own content to the week, but we’re also keen to get our members involved in the sessions that are looking at experience marketing, new innovations in event tech, and the work being done with senior business leaders.”

The Chapter plans to move one of its monthly events into the promotional week and will also participate in a number of other sessions, focusing on experience marketing and brand activation, already scheduled for the week. The ISES UK Chapter Board will also schedule its board meeting during the week.

UK Events Week launched last week as part of the plans around International Confex and Event Production Show. The event has already caused some controversy, with Business Visits and Events Partnership chair Michael Hirst saying it was likely to cause “unnecessary and unhelpful confusion“ in the industry.
