The meetings industry is mourning the loss of Denise Fraser
(nee Harris) who died on 4 March after a long illness.
Fraser started in the industry in 1985 with Imagination,
going on to specialise in logistics for HP:ICM before going freelance in 1992.
During her career she worked on many high profile events including large
government events and major product launches and also lectured part time for Thames Valley
University on its degree course in event management. She was actively involved in the education
elements for the UK
chapter of MPI for many years.
Friend Sally Greenhill of The Right Solution said: “The
industry has lost a great advocate and educator. Denise's passion for education
meant she was responsible for inspiring and motivating the next generation of
meeting planners and she made it her mission to ensure they had the skills to
deliver quality events.
“Denise brought meetings and events alive - she shared her
extensive practical experience with a sense of humour and fun that had real
impact. She will be much missed, but her contribution will be an everlasting
legacy.”
The funeral will be held at 2.30pm on Monday 19 March at
Aldershot Crematorium.
