Marketing services group Motivcom plc has acquired incentive travel company Motivation Travel Management (MTM) for an initial consideration of £860,000 rising to £1.5 million based on the performance of the business over the next two years.
Within Motivcom, MTM will join with Archer Young Marketing (AYM), another leading incentive travel company acquired by Motivcom in 2005, to create AYMTM. MTM’s strong history in the automotive trade will compliment AYM’s presence in IT and telecoms.
The combined business will be a genuinely integrated marketing services company specialising in performance improvement, motivation and incentive programmes, incentive travel, marketing communications and event management.
John Derrick will become managing director of the new business reporting to Motivcom board director Nigel Cooper. The board of AYMTM will include MTM director John Lawson and Archer Young directors Natalie Gunson and Helena Winter Brown.
Nigel Cooper said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our position in this market by creating a major new business to operate alongside our p&mm travel and events division.
“John Derrick is one of the industry’s most experienced and capable operators, and together with John Lawson and the team at MTM, they have built a highly successful and competitive organisation with an impressive track record and client list. The team at Archer Young have delivered an exciting new momentum to the business since Motivcom acquired the company and I am very excited about bringing these two groups together."
John Derrick added: "I am delighted to be joining such a professional and successful organisation and am excited by the challenge ahead. The two teams have vast combined experience and there is excellent synergy between them. Brought together, AYMTM will be a major new strategic force offering the clients of both companies the benefit of the whole range of products and services that each currently provide.”
